The Patrol Bureau responds to all 9-1-1 calls, citizen complaints, medical, & fire calls. They apprehend fugitives & criminals, interview witnesses and suspects, collect evidence, direct traffic, issue traffic tickets, investigate automobile crashes, and give testimony in court.
The Detective Bureau is responsible for conducting in-depth follow-up investigations of crimes and incidents initially investigated by the Patrol Division. One of the Detectives is always on call to investigate a serious crime.
The Community Affairs Bureau encompasses the Traffic Unit, School Security/Resource Unit, Social Media, and numerous community programs including the Junior Police Academy.
The Traffic Unit enforces traffic laws, investigates accidents, and analyzes traffic crash data to identify problem areas and solutions by working closely with Traffic Engineering. The Unit also answers and responds to citizen concerns related to vehicular traffic.
The Canine Unit works regular uniform patrol and responds to calls for burglaries & searches. They track and detect suspects, narcotics, & explosives in Voorhees and neighboring towns. Canine teams also participate in many civic functions and educational demonstrations.
