The Voorhees Police Department is governed by the NJ Civil Service Commission. The Voorhees Township resident list will be used until exhausted. For more information on the exam, please visit the NJ Civil Service Commission website.
We encourage those who are interested in taking the examination for our Agency to review the qualifications for a police officer position posted on the NJ Civil Service website.
Several Voorhees Township apartment complexes have offered incentives to individuals who are interested in moving into Voorhees in order to qualify to take the examination and be hired by our agency.
Once the NJ Civil Service Commission Entry Level Law Enforcement Examination has been given, scored, and certified, the Voorhees Police Department will be given a certified list of residents with rankings tabulated by the NJ Civil Service Commission. The NJ Civil Service Commission also recognizes US Armed Forces veteran status under the guidelines posted on their website.
Following the receipt of the certified list, we will contact potential applicants who have expressed an interest in employment with our Agency in accordance with NJ Civil Service instructions. Our hiring process includes the submission of a resume and cover letter, oral interview, extensive background investigation, and medical and psychological screenings to name a few of the portions of the process.
The Township of Voorhees and the Voorhees Police Department are equal opportunity employers.
